I am looking at buying a S&B PM II 5-25x56. I was just wondering what others would recommend and what their experiences have been.

Should I get it with LT (locking turrets)?

Should I get it with MTC (more tactile clicks)?

I prefer mtc, and as for the locking turrets - you dont have to use the locking part. I sure don't. That was my chief complaint about the bushnell was how huge the turret was if you left it up all the time. The locking part could be a nice option if you ever wanted to use the scope for hunting or something.

Edit: if i didn't have to have MTC I would buy kahles instead.

The MSR is a great reticle. The last S&B that i got has the MSR and i love it! As far as DT or MTC, it's all a matter of preference. I have one of each and can't say I like or dislike one more than the other.

I have the Locking Turrets and the More Tactile Clicks. The LT model is easier, MUCH easier, to use. The Double Turn process is a bit more involved and if you do a search, you will find a lot more questions regarding how to zero the DT turrets than the LT turrets. Also, I leave the windage knob locked since the turret can get turned when I take it in and out of my Eberlestock pack. Best to know that the windage know will NOT move, period. (It happened to a friend of mine).

The MTC is personal preference, but I enjoy it. The knob clicks get worn in the more you use it and as such, the MTC is less noticeable and is very helpful when I am in a hurry. Every tactile click indicates to me 1 full MilliRadian. Easy and simple.

As for the MSR reticle, I love it. A few competitors are going the H2CRM route because of the wind holds, but I disagree and again, this is a personal choice.
