Rifle Scopes Schmidt & Bender PM1

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

Which model... you probably have it set wrong... are you sure it's 15MOA and not 15 MIls..

To reset the zero stop on some, loosen the turret and turn it counter clockwise twice, to bring it back to normal.

Also, if you have it on a flat base it is no go.

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

rgr its a 3-12-50 FFP PM1 with the brynt reticle I dont have it in hand due to being overseas but I think it has 15moa maybe 13 on the turrent and thats it-it has a zero stop and it stops again when you dial up its also its on a 20min base.

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

It's probably mils, especially if its 13... they usually top out at 750 yards on a flat base... so chances are, you are using a Mil based turret, sounds like to too me.

First off, loosen the turret and reset it, (Is it a double turn with the yellow windows or single ? ) If its a single turn, its definitely mils

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

Timken, I'll bet it's 13 mils and not 13 MOA. You can e-mail Mark at S&B in the US and ask about the reticle changeout. I know for sure they can change the reticle in a PMII, mine went to Germany.

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

The AI catalog I was sent a few yrs ago from the UK , has a S&B PMII mounted on a AWSM on the front cover , its probably a Old catalog .

The scope looks like the 3-12x50 PMII model , has AI marked turets , 1 Click = 1/2 moa marked on the windage knob, and its a single turn model .

The Elevation knob looks like it is numbered every full moa & and marked every 1/4 moa .

there is also pic of a single turn PMII with 1 click = 0.2 mrad on the windage knob also .

Later Chris

heres the best pic I have I dont have the scope in hand and wont until 27th or so.

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

I'm not familiar with that S&B model glass but it appears that based on the turret there is only 25-30 MOA available and if you have it zeroed and set properly then you have just used up 1/2 or more of the available elevation when zeroing it in. If so, then you need a base with more elevation. You would think a 20 MOA base would be enough if indeed that base was made for your action. Now, if thats a base made for another action and modified to fit your Winchester, well...............

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

It was made for the winchester but ive had the same deal on remington I tried a flat base on the remington and it still only had one turn because the turrent wont allow it to go any further. I emaild schmidt & bender mybe they can help me. thanks for the help guys.

Re: Schmidt & Bender PM1

Looks alot like the Precision Hunter model, similar turret and 30mm tube. The PH scopes have very limited total elevation travel, nothing like the PMII models. If you want to use it for long range shooting (beyond about 400-500m with a .308), I suggest that you sell it and buy a PMII.

It is a Precision Hunter. They only have approximately 35 moa total internal travel so what you're experiencing is normal. I've seen a few of those that have had custom reticles installed in them for long range hunting/shooting due to the limited amount of internal adjustment but unfortunately that option is no longer available.
