Today great sunny day 19 degreesF
300 WM Short Action Customs, AI stock, S & B 5-25 PMII Scope with APA Rings
Went to sight in at 50 yds and was very high...settled at about 8" high at that distance and moved to 100 yds.
At 100 yds windage was perfect, but was still high and ran out of downward adjustment on the "elevation" ring and was still about 4" high.
Checked the rings which were level and torqued to spec as was the stock ..the rings were seated into the rail and not eccentric or canted.
Scope was only used once and there has been no documented trauma to the rifle or scope.

Advice needed for my lack of ability to lower point of impact at 100 yds.

Note: Ridicule is well tolerated, but constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. :)

You are coming up against your zero stop. Loose your elevation turret first. Now raise your turret to say 3 mills, which should be enough to cover 4 inches at 100 yard. Tighten your elevation turret again and bring down to zero. You will probably have to adjust your point of impact up from there which you are familiar with..Ray

Did you try defeating the zero stop? Loosen the set screws, turn the elevation turret up to about 1.3 mils or 4.25 MOA, tighten the set screws back down, and dial down to zero. There should be plenty of internal elevation to accomplish a zero at 100 yards.

Good advice, and I found a Euro Optic video for this reset with the lock ring..but my scope has a double turret, but there is no locking ring its the base
Now what is the plan B for this problem?
    Thanks as always.

On the DT it is still the same principle. You can't bring your point of impact down because of your zero stop...Loosen your elevation turret and raise up slightly and move up in elevation. .. say 3 mills, more than enough...remember you are only moving the turret, not changing the elevation. Tighten turret back down which allows you to then bring the point of impact down. Ray

    Tried my own plan B
    No lock ring
So I found 2 allen screws at the top of the elevationTurret ring, loosened them, turned the turret about 4 MOA (16 clicks) tightened them and the result was more downward clicks to zero
I hate playing with mechanics without being sure of the outcome...easy way to open a can of worms....Next trip to range will tell.
