Lets say I have a 50mm (1.9685 inches) obj with 35mm tube and .95" rings and i have .10" clearance from obj and barrel. If I change to 56mm (2.2047 inches) with 34mm tube, do I need rings that are 3mm (.1181) inches higher to have the exact same clearance? Is my math right? 56-50 = 6mm. 6mm/2 =3mm. 3mm = .1181" i need rings that are .1181" taller to have exact same clearance from of the 50mm obj scope

The scope rings are measured from the base to center of tube, for the most part, so if you go up the amount you need for the larger objective then you should have the same clearance. So 1.06" height should do it. I always use 1" height rings with my 56mm objective scopes.

ETA a couple pics of a 56mm scope in 1" height rings and the gap with butler creeks on.

On my scopes with a 56mm objective lens I use rings that are between 1.25" and 1.5" depending on equipment on the weapon. On my AIAW with a NF NXS 8-32X56 I use 1.5" rings

On my LA Defiance 1.0" was too low, just sent them back for a set of 1.125"(NF Atacr NF 34mm rings, 45moa base).

How much too low? I just got my ATACR in today. I have a 20 min base. I have the 1 inch NF rings ordered. I am now worried they are too short.

There was very little clearance ( maybe a business card ). You may be okay with a 20 moa base.
