Rifle Scopes Scope base for long action magnum

Looking to pick up a scope base for a 7RM build on a M700 action. My paralysis by analysis has me looking at a quality steel base, or are the quality aluminum offerings today sufficient for a long action magnum? Am I correct in assuming a steel base should be mated with steel rings and aluminum mated to aluminum? I tend to overthink these things, i.e. can I use the M10 aluminum rings on a steel Badger base?

I go aluminum for both.

Hard to beat a NF extreme duty base or a badger. I like the slot they have on their bases.
