I can shoot 500 yards , but I have alot of friends that has farms that I can shoot out to 1000 plus.

You might reap benefits from the 20 moa base, if you are looking to expand your distance to 1000 yards.

You need to figure out what caliber and what glass then how far you will max out at. Then you will be able to determine what base to use. I strongly recomend Near Manufacturing they are second to none and Richard is very knowledgeable and helpful. If he is out of your price range Nightforce is second, then best bang for your buck is tps.

The amount of slope in the base you will need is largely dependent upon the amount of adjustment your scope offers.
You'll need 11-13 moa of elevation to get to 500 yds, so most any scope can do that with a flat base. Once you get further out it increses rapidly.
An old fixed power Super Sniper or fixed power leupy MK4 will have enough adjustment internally to get 1000+ without any slope, but many other scopes will need sloped bases to make it to 800.........
