Rifle Scopes Scope centering

Called Leupold today and asked them about my new scope. http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shoot...g-range-target/ They said to put a small mirror in front of it and turn the adjustment until "both" crosshairs were centered I cant see crap when I put a mirror in front of it. What am I doing wrong.

Works with illuminated scopes. Hold mirror flat ont he objective, or place scope objective down on a mirror laying flat on a table.
Mirror has to be perpendicular to tube.

You need lots of light to do this, add backround lighting or go outside on a sunny day. You'll have to ajust the knobs in reverse as well. Don't worry as soon as you start you'll understand.

You could always count from the bottom to top and then half it. That's what I'd do.
