Okay for the sake of being relatively new to the site I'm taking the time to post this here and if it should be moved to the rimfire forum then that's okay. I've been contemplating a new scope for my .22 that has a wide range of power and clearer glass.

The two that I've decided to pursue were what I linked above. I understand that both use a different system as to the reticle and adjustments along with how the adjustments are made. I did take the time to watch LowLights video of the Weaver Tactical 3-10x which I found very informational. I'm looking for clear cut evidence that one of these scopes is better then the other along with experiences with both. Thank you for your time.

Re: Scope Comparison

Depends on your goal. The Weaver is more of a target type with external turrets. The Vortex is more of a hunting scope, with low, covered, reset-to-zero turrets.

For a fair comparison, you should consider the Vortex Viper 3-9x40, same price as the Weaver, better coating than the DB and fast 12 MOA adjustable elevation.

I have the Weaver, great scope, nice and bright and plenty of eye relief. Will be perfect for a 22 trainer.

Lastly the Weaver is mil/mil and the Vortex is 1/4 moa adjustments.

Side note: The dead hold reticle subtension is a near perfect match for 308, 168 gr @ 2700fps, drops are 185,300,400,500 with 100 zero.

Re: Scope Comparison

I would find something that has adjustable parallax that goes down to 10yds if you are using it for your .22

So I would pick neither of those. I personally right now wouldn't mind the Burris Mtac 3.5-10 on a .22 trainer, or a 6x SS Mil/Mil
