Sidearms & Scatterguns Scope/dot mount for 1911

I just picked up a Springfield TRP Operator long slide 10mm. Would a optic saddle mount that attaches to the tac rail be the best mount for a small scope or red dot scope instead of having the slide cut up? The Fusion mount is one of the few I can find but they are out of stock.

How come you didn't get the 10mm TRP with the RMR already mounted?

I don't have any set up with optics but I prefer the optics mounting on the dust cover. I'll admit the rail makes it easier than drilling out the frame.

Anything on the slide changes how it functions.

Call me old-school, I'm not an RMR fan either.

EGW Makes a mout for just about every rear sight cut n scope, I highly suggest getting a Trijicon RMR 2 or CRO, if you can’t afford those buy 2 Vortex, that way when one is broke you still have a sight to use.

There is a mount for the FastFire that goes right into a Novak rear sight cut.
