First of all, thanks a ton to everyone who has weighed in over the last two weeks with all my questions on getting this rifle set up.

Background:
I am selling three rifles to get my AXMC. This means I have one of the scopes from these rifles I could use for the AXMC if I wanted. It is a Premier Reticles 5-25X56.

I am going to be shooting my AXMC in .308, 6.5 Creedmore, .338 Lapua and .300 Win. I want to shoot everything from close to as far out as I can. I will enter matches but that isn't my focus. Let me know if you need more info on applications I anticipate using this setup for.

Budget:
I don't have one. I just want the best scope I can purchase.

Thoughts and Questions:
I want to use a Christmas Tree style reticle and that is the reason I have thought about not using the Premier Reticle I already own. I thought I was going to get a Kahles K525i with SKMR3 but my other post (Kahles vs Premier Recticle) makes me wonder if there might be a better scope for this application than the Kahles.

I know each of these two questions could be a discussion all on their own but here they are:

Question 1: Of the available Christmas Tree style reticles, which are the best? The new Nightforce Mil-XT looks promising.

Question 2: What is the highest quality, best scope for this application? I am wondering if it is the Tangent Theta but I don't know that for sure.

Thanks for the help on this.

If you’re going to be using the switch barrel feature frequently, stick with your Premier. If you want to spend a few bucks get the Tangent Theta. The ease of zero is second to none.

Or go crazy and get a scope with return to zero mount and match it up with each barrel. ;)

This is a tough one as far as reticles go. As Frank calls it, picking someone’s favorite color.

I personally really like the skmr and skmr3. I’m enjoying my k525i and k318i quite a bit.

I couldn’t get 100% behind the gen3xr for a couple reasons that are completely personal preference.

Best thing to do is start looking through as many as possible and picking the reticle/s you like.

The tangent theta is second to none of you like the gen2xr or gen3xr.

I’ll throw in my $.02
I went with the Schmidt 3-27 on my AXMC, glass is impeccable, turrets are robust and added the H59 reticle.
For me switching calibers I zeroed for the lowest barrel, which is my 308 barrel, then for each caliber I just dial up. My 6creed was .7 high. So in my Kestrel it showed .7 at 100yds, 6BRA is 1.1 high.
