just purchased a cz 550 tacticool in 308,plan build for 1000 yd, by reading the article on home page here,the scope i need will be up too 24 power, zero stop,ffp, and enough verticle adjustment for 308, and matching turrets also a budget of 1250, if i understand correctly i can buy a scope with enough adjustment or buy a mount worth 20 moa and use a scope of lesser adjustability and {lesser coin} but will it have enough for a 100yd zero with the mount. im new at this long range stuff but willing to learn and any help on scope choices and settup would help the pain of searching and looking at every scope manufacturer.

A few scopes to consider:
- Tract Toric 4-20x50
- Burris XTR II 4-20x50
- Vortex PST II 3-15 or 5-25 scopes
- Bushnell LRTSi 4.5-18x50
- Bushnell DMR II Pro 3.5-21x50
Was typing this on my phone last night, but wanted to mention there are some other scope options in this price class; however, these are ones I've had personal experience with and the other scopes within the price range you've given have not interested me as much for lack of some features that these scopes have. Of the above scopes the Burris and Vortex have the best FOV which is something you will come to appreciate.
The Bushy DMR II-i 3.5-21x50 is also a great option, not quite as good optically as the DMR II Pro but it does have illumination if that is important to you
Sorry for the double post, but just reinforcing the 20 MOA base idea - it's pretty well standard operating procedure to run 20 MOA bases on rifles anymore. You might even look into a 30 MOA base, but I admittedly don't have any experience with and haven't done any analysis on if that would preclude you from a 100 yard zero (my gut tells me that you should be fine, but I don't want to lie to you).
The Pro doesn't fit in his $1250 budget as new. You might find a used one for that price, though.
The standard DMR2 is now $1200 or so depending on reticle and illumination options. The recent MAP drops on the Bushnell ET line has really made all of them a steal for the price.

Also, don't let the numbers fool you on some of these scopes. While the Bushy 3.5-21x50 seems to have an advantage with magnification range, the FOV is not as good as the Burris XTR II 4-20 and the Burris can be had for a great price these days. If you don't need a tree reticle, the SCR is a great reticle for competition. I found glass between the XTR II 4-20 and DMR II 3.5-21 to be about the same, but the wider FOV with the Burris, the lighter weight and the turrets (I liked them a bit better than the Bushnell) along with the cheaper price make it a very viable option IMO. The Vortex PST II's also have very wide FOV and a decent tree reticle. My recommendation would be to choose the reticle you like the most and go with that scope as they will all perform decently for you and have great warranties to back them up.

Also, not sure if you're Miltary/Veteran or LE, but Vortex, Burris and Bushnell all have great discounts for those who serve. That being said, most of these scopes can be had for the same or sometimes better prices when the Hide dealers run specials on them.

leaning to the bushnell and the tract.......so far. thanks for the input on the 20moa mount i kinda figured must have,cz makes one but is always out of stock, egw makes one and looks of quality any opinions on them. i will be using a scope mount like a aero or geissele instead of rings more advice is needed from you guys

found a vortex pst gen 2 5-25x50 ffp ebr-2c mrad new for 799 this price is making me think real hard
Spend the extra $100 and get the Bushnell from Doug. It’s a much better optic and much more durable. The Vortex PST is a nice optic they just aren’t real durable from what I have seen. If you post and ask how many people here have seen one go down in a match just about everyone will have a story.
