I've got a 7.62 gas gun I've been running a 1-8 scope on, most targets out to 300-400 or so. I've been taking it out to 600-800 lately, and I've wanted a little more mag at times.

What do you guys like to run for those ranges? Seems like a lot of new offerings in the scope world right now. I'd like it relatively lightweight and short. I don't need 1x on the low end, 3 or 4 would work fine. Budget around 2k.

    Thanks!

I have an old GEN 1 4-16 Vortex Viper PST on mine... I generally like that magnification range for those types of distances... been considering upgrading the glass for better clarity though.

I put a 4-16 NF ATACR with the mil-c reticle on my 556 build and I am more than pleased. Turrets are clear and crisp, they lock, pretty simple to set the zero stop, gathers a fair amount of light for its size, picture quality is top notch. Only thing that bothers me is that like all NF optics when you power up and down the damn scope cover spins around as well.
