I have a Scar 17 with a CQBSS and Horus reticle already. This is kind of my all around gun. I have shot this setup out to 800 and was getting body shots

I have a GAP .308 with 22" barrel and a 3-15 Premier Reticle scope on it. This is my more precise gun for out to 1K.

I have a KAC SR25 E2 PR inbound and I want to get a scope for it. My plan is to use this as a precision rifle but I want to keep the weight low for what the rifle is and the magnification low for fast shots at closer distances. (Unless the advice is a T1 on a 45 degree mount or something to complement the scope.) I would like to use this setup for unknown distances from field positions out to 1K.

I don't really have a budget for this optic. I mainly want to do it right. It would be nice to be cost effective of course, but primary concern is getting the best scope for the job.

I am not as in tune with the precision optic market as you guys are since I am just coming off of a 4 year love affair with carbines out to 300 etc.

What else do you guys need to know from me?

Thanks for your input.

I am running a S&B 3-20 PMII (not the US) on my GAP-10 6.5. I could not be happier with that scope. I think the power range is fantastic for a gasser, and on Sunday, I was making multiple hits at 1000/1200/1600 yds shooting 16-18X. I find 16-18 works fantastic unless it’s early in the day, and the mirage isn’t sneaking up. I will also turn it up to 20X to read wind/mirage, then go down in power to make the shot. Something about the 3-20 makes me like it even more than my 5-25 PMII. I’m using the H2CMR reticle. I love the .2mil lines on the horizontal plane, and the open dots don’t cover your target at distance. If this was the only scope I owned, I wouldn’t feel under glassed.

My other very strong recommendation would be the NF ATACR 4-16.
That scope is a gas gun dream. It’s enough scope to get a .308 as far as possible, but the size and weight doesn’t take over your gun.
He’ll bent for reliable and tough as well.
