Rifle Scopes scope height on RRA 308 ??

Bought a scope for my rock river. 2-7 redfield. Salesman said I needed these extra high mounts, which are standart for AR platform guns.

These seem very high to me (they are Warne Maxima Ultra Height) since I am used to shooting bolt guns.

Is this guy full of hot air, or do I need an attitude adjustment?
