This may be a stupid question but i could not find a answer using the search function. Is 3/8" to much clearance between the objective bell and the barrel? I bought a 20MOA rail so i can start shooting long range rimfire and the rail is quite a bit taller than my old one. I do have a pair of very cheap Weaver top lock rings that will bring it down, but would rather use my good Weaver tacticals. The gun will be used for paper punching mostly, from 50-200 yards.

Whether it's too tall is a function of whether you can get a consistent cheek weld on the stock.
Many will put a stock pack on the rifle to assist them in doing that, perhaps with a piece of foam or other material under it at the top to increase the height.
If you can shoot it well, it's not too tall.
