I picked up a Nightforce NXS to put on another rifle and I have been thinking about using a one piece mount. Currently on my R700 I'm using a Nightforce 20moa base, along with a set of TPS rings. I removed the scope to install level and the scope showed no marks on the body.

Now the question. Are you less likely to end up with ring marks by using a one piece mount?

Re: Scope Mounting

NO, the quality of the mount and proper mounting can help prevent that. TPS rings have always been great for me and never seem to leave marks. Just follow the torquing directions and they always seem to perform and protect that expensive glass.
