Hello,
Based on your experience, do you think 0.014" (0.35mm) spacing between bottom of scope bell to picatinny rail is too little? I'm a worried cause I've seen how scope flexes during recoil. This is for my 308 rifle. If it's too little, do you think that spacing is good enough for 6.5x47Lapua (less recoil) ? Thanks.

Have you fired the rifle? Any marks on the objective bell or on the rail? How's the clearance after everything's been sitting in the sun?

That’s pretty close. Can you press on it and make it touch? Obviously don’t force it to touch; just see if what little flex there is is an issue. If not then shoot it, if you see marks under it like kl3309 describes then you need to go higher. Of go the route of insurances and get higher rings.

I’ve never seen a scope actually flex. I’ve seen mounts flex depending on the type but I’ve never actually seen the scope flex. Just make sure you have a quality set of rings or unimount that doesn’t float the optic in mid air. By float I mean like this.

Keep the lugs under the rings.
