Rifle Scopes Scope Opinion - Sightron S3 Tactical

Guys... I am looking at scoping my AR10 (T). The rifle is setup perfectly in my opinion as it is the 3rd one I have messed with but the ONLY one that I own now due to trying to find that "PERFECT" one....

Yeah... I know...


Anyways... its a true 10(T) with a NM 2 Stage that breaks like smoothe silk...


I am looking at the following scope and can get a KILLER price which makes it considerably cheaper in price than the VORTEX PST or similars I was looking at...

I just wanted to see IF anyone has one or played with one.

It WILL be mounted in A.R.M.S #22 MED Throw Lever Rings on top of the A.R.M.S #38 Swan Extension

To bad you are not closer as I'd let you mount the scope and give a look see to find out if it is up to your liking. However since next door is a good 12 hours away I'll just tell you a few of my observations. First, my eyes are 64 years old & get tired quite fast as I am a programmer. Next, the glass is crystal clear, on par with my Nightforce which is on my AI. While I have had the Sightron out to 2-300 yards, I can just about make out the ragged edges of the holes in the target. That could be my eyes.

My only criticism is that once past 14 magnification, if I am not PERFECTLY positioned behind the scope then I see nothing. There is no room for error or side movement.

Sightron glass and repeatability is incredible. They aren't quite tactical enough to have a big following on the Hide. They do lack some features, illumination and reticle, but other than that, they are excellent. I would recommend one in a heartbeat, depending on the features that you need.

The one I am HIGHLY considering DOES have the Mil-Dot reticle in .1 MRAD... so it seems to have a very good setup for the reticle.

I may just have to pull the trigger on it this weekend.

I have that exact model. The glass is very good and the tracking has been excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I've got four of the SIII 6-24x50 LRMOA scopes, which are the same as the MD model, only with 2 MOA hashmark reticle, and MOA knobs. As the others have mentioned, optical quality is very good, clicks are accurate & repeatable. For the money, I doubt you can beat these scopes. Watch out if Sightron ever decides to make ffp models with nicer reticles.

I have several S-III's. Great scope for the money.

Rats, should have added the feel on the elevation & windage knobs is very tactile, that is you feel & hear each click. Getting old & remember things later.

I just bought the 3.5-10x44 SIII mildot .1 mil turret model.
The glass is very good for the $$$.
The scope has an impressive amount of travel; 40 mils elevation and windage.
I like the turrets a great deal. Very audible and tactile clicks.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Sightron SIII.

I have four of the siii models and like them a lot. I have three of the 6-24 models and an 8-32. I think they are fantastic scopes for the money. I wanted to make the jump to the ffp scopes so I have just purchased a 4.5-30 Bushnell xrs. i'll be listing them shortly.
