I am looking for a long eye relief scope that I can put on a stock Springfield Armory SOCOM. Any recommendations for brand and model? I don't need a high power scope for at a I want to use the rifle for. A 1-4, 1-6, or 3-9 would be more than enough but I would prefer an illuminated reticle.

A few years ago I had a SOCOM II. I had it set up w/ a Vortex PST 1-4 (illuminated reticle, MIL/MIL) & it worked really well. I used 1.26” Seekins Precision rings to mount the PST. Anything less than that & you’ll run into issues w/ you optic not clearing the rear sight aperture.

I also had an angled front grip & I used the 25 round Checkmate mags. I liked the gun a lot but I didn’t put many rounds through it at all before I moved it.

Unfortunately not a lot of people making long eye relief (LER) scopes presently, especially illumimated ones. I went with the leupold VX-R 1.5-5x scout scope on mine. Despite all the shit talk you will see on here, Leupold still makes good scopes IMO. Two things to be aware of, 1 the eye relief is a touch short for a LER scope but it's still usable and 2 the illumination isn't really daylight bright. It isn't bad but I wish it was brighter, a perfect comparison is the 1-4x nightforce nxs illumination. I would recommend this scope as it fits into the specifications you listed, but those are the main drawbacks I have observed. Also keep in mind you will probably want to get a stock pad that has some built in elevation into it like the TNVC one or just build your own, otherwise you will probably end up doing an AK style cheek weld to get good head placement.
