I am new to long range shooting and I am a little confused on picking a reticle. I have never used a mil/mil scope so I want to stay with moa adjustment for windage and elevation. I am wondering if the reticle matters if im not using the scope for measuring distance since im always shooting at the range and I know the distance. For example would a mil reticle with moa adjustments be fine or should I get them to match. I'm looking at a viper pst 4-16x50 to put on my .308 m40t4 from tactical rifles.

Re: Scope Reticle Help

the great thing about matching reticles and adjustment is making corrections... if they match, say you shoot a group, it's 1/2 MOA, .2 (1/5) mil off... what ever... you use the reticle as a ruler, dial what you see in the reticle, and you never have to walkto the target, measure or estimate how far it's off, do math, etc, etc...
