I have purchased a SS5-20 and am in process of ordering a Remington 7005R in .308 Cal
I want to get the parts here before the rifle shows, so I'm not playing with myself hoping I had the stuff to mount it

I'm open to use any scope rings and base recommended (I'm pretty green to this game) I do want to use a 20MOA base though.
So fire away on mounts and bases for this combo. Seekins, badger whatever you think I should use just need a height for the closest fit.

P.S - I have read as much as possible on the subject and my head hurts now

Thanks

Re: Scope Ring Height for 5R & SS5-20

Get the lowest rings you can, you shouldn't have any issues with clearance. As far as brand can't go wrong with Seekins or Badger for rings and bases. If you're on a tighter budget...I like Warne's tactical line for rings and bases, too.

these are Warne Tactical high rings on my 5R. could have gone medium maybe even low seeing there is 10mm of space, and thats a 56mm objective. that should help.

I have the SS 5-20 and use Seekins low rings with EGW HD 20 moa on remington vssf with varmint barrel contour, leaving plenty of clearance for scope covers
