Rifle Scopes Scope Ring Question

I'm going to mount a Leupold Mark IV LR/T 8.5x25x50 on my M99 with the flat (non 27 MOA) rail. I just received my Barret 40 MOA Exrings and am wondering..............
Am I going to be able to zero at 100 yards with this setup?
Should I have gotten 30MOA rings instead?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Scope Ring Question

You should be able to zero at 100 yards, but you will be maxed out with elevation adjustment. 20-30 MOA would be a better bet for closer distances. The bigger issue is the 50 BMG will not stabilize at that distance. The 50 really needs a few hundred yard zero. I had a AR50 that from 100 yards to 400 yards had a huge jump. If you can or have the range, try to push your zero back as far as possible.
