Gunsmithing Scope rings torque recommendation

what do you guys recommend as far as torque poundage setting on scope rings?

I like to go with manufacturer specs

25 Inch lbs on scope screws with a dab of blue loctight as extra insurance. Never had one come loose, but thats just what I do.

There are different specs from various mfgs based on different designs/materials/construction of their rings, screws, etc. What will be AOK for one may very well be improper for another. Best to stick with the specific recommendations/instructions provided by the mfg for both the ring cap screws and base clamp screws.

Thanks guys. The only recommendations I had were for the ring to base setting of 65in/lb. Didn't want to use that for the rings.

For example, NIGHTFORCE ring cap torque specs are higher than EGW's pic rail torque specs! Quality screws vs cheap screws. You get the idea...
