I just bought a new CZ 452 varmint in 22lr. I now need a scope for it. I want a mil dot reticle and would like to get a variable power. I have looked at the SS 10x and the bushnell 3200 10x but the variable power would be more handy for close range squirrel hunting. I also noticed that SWFA is selling Falcon and Wonder optics. I do not know anything about these scopes but they might be an option. I am currently using a Vortex viper on my 308 and I am satisfied with it but would like to try something different. I would like to keep the price under 400 dollars. What should I get?

Careful, He's new and you never know he might take you seriously.

Falcon seem to have decent reviews, I don't know about wonder.
The low end variable Bushnell and Super Sniper tactical models are good. Another decent option is to look for a used nikon tactical.

Re: Scope Selection

Well, there are a lot of great options under $400 for a .22. Honestly, I've used the Center Point from Walmart on a .22, and it seemed to track well and be repeatable. I will say that the glass is not that great though. It was decent, but not great and at 14-16 power it kind of sucked. However, for what most people use a .22 for, it did seem okay.

Get a SS 3-9 FFP off samplelist.com if you want variable mil-dot ... great little scopes

Re: Scope Selection

I mentioned that I wanted a mil dot but I guess it doesn't really matter. I need exposed turrets though. I usually just dial for elevation. I use the mil dot sometimes but it is just easier for me to think in minutes of angel.
