So I am the perfect example of why to go to a gunsmith for inletting. I tried to do a B&C stock for a dbm and messed it up horribly. Went too deep in a few spots and it looks like hell, plus the action screws now go in too deep and stop the action from properly functioning. Can I use devcon or similar to try and recover the functionality on this or is it trash?? Any other ideas?

Yes, I know...perfect example of “you shoulda gone to a real smith”....no need for I told you so’s, I get it! Lol

I'm sure most everyone has bought a part making a mistake . The stock has the aluminum bedding block I would find the right size washers or shims to get the magazine working . Once you find the right combo put release agent on the bottom metal and bed the parts in the inlet . The tough part will be getting the bottom metal square and at the right height without a mill.

^^^ Like you said in your original post, fill with epoxy..., and as mentioned use the bottom metal as the "form". If you overcut the width/shape of the bottom metal, put a few layers of painters tape (trimmed with a razor, like you'd prep the front of a recoil lug) around it before release agent, it'll provide clearance for easy removal/replacement.

You can also tint the epoxy if needed to get it close to the stock color. Epoxy is sorta like the duct tape, of stockwork...

Epoxy the low spots, set the magazine box at the right height and glue up all the voids. Sand everything until it is perfect and get the stock painted or hydro dipped. If you have a Tap Plastics store nearby use fiberglass surfacer and microspheres. Mix it so it's very thick like peanut butter then add the catalyst.

Devcon works well on B&C stocks.
