Seating depth vs barrel time

41.5gr is a powder node with 5 sd. Much above or below results in about 20 sd. The groups below this tighten up at 100 yds and above 41.5 spread out.

I want to delay the bullet exit for barrel time. Do I increase or decrease the jump to the lands?

Increase the jump. The further it has to go the longer it will take to get there.

That said... why don’t you shoot what’s accurate instead of taking a small sample size as gospel?

18" 308 with 178ELDX. The low side is 2400 fps and a hint of vertical stringing coincidence with the high sd. Could be my imagination but still slow for a hunting round.
41.5 is 2450 - 2470.
