I have a liberty hd-300 pistol vault on my nite stand and I need to secure it. It has two holes one is a keymod type hole in the middle on the bottom and then it has two small holes for #8 screws towards the opening. Any suggestions on how to anchor it? I don't want to mount it to the nite stand. Currently I'm thinking about mounting a 'shelf' to the wall with oak board and mounting it to that just above the nite stand or drilling a hole through the vault and running a piece of cable through it and attaching that to the wall somehow.
Any thoughts? Just want it to take more time for a thief to take it. Slow them down so to say.
