I was close to buying The Fix by Q in 16" barrel .308....but I HATE the action and how high the bolt had to be thrown up to cycle. Otherwise the length and weight were superb. I also considered the Tikka Tac A1 but its too heavy for my taste/long treks.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a similar rifle or a custom shop that can do a shorter, super lightweight, and folding stock bolt action rifle I would appreciate it. Must fit into a backpack when folded and most of all be lightweight.

Looking to keep the rifle build below $3500 but i'm flexible.

Thank you.

I will agree with @Kickin45 and suggest our LSS-XL Gen2 with a Folding Stock Adapter and Skeleton Carbine Stock (SCS). These three components will get you a rigid chassis system with a solid bedding block and come in anywhere from a little over 3lbs-4lbs. With the folding stock adapter, you can fully fold your buttstock away, making the overall build 8-12" shorter, which aids in cleaning and transport!

Also, we have something new on the way that you may like, but you're going to have to wait a few more weeks for that ;)

@MDT_Josh, I’m looking for something similar and have taken a liking to the ESS chassis. Will you be releasing the “something new” at shot? Very interested!

The ESS is a solid platform to build a hunting rifle off of in my opinion, but we never intended to make it very light. The "something new" should be unveiled before SHOT, and we have a lot in the works to be released throughout the year!

You can't build what the fix offers in the same weight range. It just can't be done. To match the weight, you're going to have to make compromises. The bolt throw is weird, but it's not bad. Just something you have to get used to.
