Rifle Scopes Seeking opinions on Steiner T5Xi Tactical 5-25x56 - SCR

Gents,
Been playing with AR's and what not for many years, but it's time for me to try my hand at longer range shooting. I've picked up a
Savage 110 tactical in .308 with a 20 barrel. My limit at this point is 600 yds, as that is the longest range I can find within several hours drive. I am thinking of putting a Steiner T5xi on it. My thought is to buy once/cry once, and just get it over with and get the best scope I can afford. The plan is to keep the optic, and grow into a custom firearm, if it turns out that I enjoy long range shooting. My budget tops out around $2300. I am on older guy, so my vision is not great, and hence the desire to get the best optic I can afford. Thoughts? Am I missing something obvious here? all opinions welcome...

You may come across a used one in the PX section. Might save you a little $.

It’s a good scope to get into. You should be able to find one for around $1600 new and even less used.

I was at a shooting range where a Connecticut SWAT team was practicing, they were running T5xi's. I was talking to them about their optics
and they said the optic was very reliable.

Have it. Great scope! I thought the Sightron SV, their new flagship scope, would have better glass than the T5xi but in a side by side comparison it doesn't. In fact the Steiner glass in my opinion edged out the sightron. Turrets on the T5xi are easy on old eyes.

Own one and dang good glass for sure! Especially if your getting a deal on one from the optics px here.
