Seeking some feedback on my rifle ad...specifically why no interest please help

Not much has been selling lately, at least not rifles and not for the asking price. Look at how many AIs went recently for less than wholesale.

Graham is right, stuff has just not been selling lately. Your rifle is extremely nice and I would buy it if I had the cash.

Some different pictures may help. The pictures you have are kind of dark and do not show the lines and details of the rifle. Throw a bipod on it and take some high resolution pics of the rifle while its in really good light, preferably outside but NOT in direct sunlight.

same thing right now on the knife forums. Unless it is unobtanium and underpriced it isn't selling. Reason - Dude it is like 4 weeks til Christmas. You think families are going to appreciate big spending right before Christmas? Hunting season is almost over, so anyone who got drawn has a rifle to hunt with too. Poor timing.

You are listing in the slump of the natural selling cycle. Things sell like hotcakes from end of February-mid summer due to tax returns and the fact that Christmas is over.

Things slow down around September as people realize the holidays are here, they need to buy presents or plane tickets, so they need to save their cash. Additionally this causes a market glut of luxury items as those who over spent earlier in the year try to liquidate their purchases. This year it will be worse (liquidation) because many people over spent on guns and components. They paid through the nose in most cases so they can't sell for a deal and will have to eat a loss.

My advice is to stick the gun back in the safe until March.

Used is used. Even though you say unfired if it's not coming from the smith it's used. Price will take a hit.

.308 is boring. I have several and love them. Few would now commission a custom .308 build unless they will use it professionally and professionals shoot company stuff. Price will take a hit.

If you really want to sell it you kind of have to do a reverse auction, keep dropping price until it's irresistible.

No simple answer as you have a great rifle at a good price. Yes, I think the time of year has something to do with it but I also think that used 308's from GAP and other known smiths have been going for the $2,500 -3,000 range over the past six months. You are at the high end but its also new or LNIB so I don't think its priced inappropriately. If you don't need to let it go wait until January and list it again. I would have paid $2,800-$2,900 for this a few months ago when I purchased a .308. Keep the faith!

Leave it up for sale, somebody single may buy themselves a xmas present. Without getting political the economy is damn tough right now. I work at a coal fired powerhouse. I have stopped all frivelous buying because my job hanging by a thread. Alot of people in the same boat as me!!!
