Hey guys, newb here. Thinking about getting a suppressor on my .30-06 bolt rifle. It already has the SEI vortex on it and I thought it would be an easy QD with the SEI suppressor. Plus I wouldn't need another thread protector or have to take off the flash hider.

I can't find too much information on them and not too many reviews on them. Does anyone have any thoughts? Good, bad, ugly?

    thanks again!

    Re: SEI/FISHER suppressors??

I've heard there's better stuff for less money . Try silencertalk.com . I have an SWR Omega-300 . I haven't been able to find an adapter yet for my M1A , so I can't say how it compares...It does sound great on my bolt-actions,though ...

    Re: SEI/FISHER suppressors??

I've done a search on silencertalk.com and couldn't find a lot of results on the SEI/Fisher. H20man seems to like his. The YHM is cheaper and I've heard great things about Shark Suppressors....

    I'll keep doing the research.

    Re: SEI/FISHER suppressors??

I called fisher, but for what they were asking I'd probably buy a Tac Ops or a Shark from what was reccommended.

this may be a stupid question but are the really expensive cans that much better?? I know as a general rule you get what you pay for. But what do you gain with the more expensive cans? Not trying to down play the quality of the high end products, just trying to learn what the differences are so I can make an educated purchase.

My Class III dealer really likes YHM and uses them on all his rifles/pistols that he suppresses.

So what do the more expensive cans offer over the "budget minded cans"??

    Re: SEI/FISHER suppressors??

That's a good question and the answer is too broad to answer in type.

You have to decide what you want. Light/heavy Quiet/Louder Spendy/affordable accurate/slightly less accurate.

The Ops 3rd model corners the market on accurate. It's heavy, and sound performance is good but not amazing. The mounting system is solid.

The HVT in titanium is pretty light and performs slightly better and promises good accuracy.

Some of the Surefire cans are loud but they are light and have small POI shift.

A lot of the quick mounts aren't "sniper grade" by any stretch of the imagination.

I just heard a guy on AR15 say he has been waiting 3 years for a can from jet. That's not cool if true, but it could be a rumor.

    Re: SEI/FISHER suppressors??

I have a friend on here who loves his Fisher/SEI can. It shoots good, and he can swap it from his M1A, which it is the 7.62 can, to his SIG 556. Arbitrator is his handle on here, hit him up and let him give ya feedback on it.

Here is a good video on the SEI/ Fisher suppressor on a Smith MK XIV Mod 0 in an EBR stock.
