I have an older model Remington 300 WM Sendero (all matte blue)with HS stock, I am having issues with the accuracy of this rifle, the trigger has been adjusted to 3 lbs, barrel is not touching the stock and the groups are 1.7 @ 100 yards. I have tried three brands of factory ammunition and have handloaded numerous rounds trying to improve and the best it will do is 1.3 @ 100. The crown appears fine, barrel has been cleaned properly with rod guide, proper size jags and brushes and very little copper is showing in the barrel. My other Sendero .308 will shoot .5 with factory Federal GM...any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Re: Sendero Accuracy

I shoot larger calibers weekly, don't think flinching is the problem, the scope on it is an Elite 4200 Busnell 5x16, its the only scope that has been on it...screws are torqued and bases tight as well.

    Re: Sendero Accuracy

I had one doing something similar. When you push your bolt all the way forward then all the way down, the bolt handle was contacting the HS stock. All it takes is just a very little touching to ruin it. It was shooting great then went to shit. I had taken the action out of the stock and didn't get it back perfectly. Resolved that and it went back to shooting great. Had another issue once with the mag box being in a bind and preventing everything seating properly. Check the simple things first, My issues were created by me.

Mike, I will take a another look, I may try a new crown and bedding it once everything else is re-checked, hoping not to replace the barrel. When handloading I'm using Sierra 190 Match and A Max 168 with both H4831 and R22 seating bullets 3.450 just off lands.

Checked parallax and adjusted, it was off by about 1 full turn, the reticle is now clear and bold, will be a week before I return back in town to confirm, will also be checking for any binding...Thanks for the advise and suggestions to all.
