I don’t currently have a ballistics app, but has anyone figured out what wind speed the wind dots represent on the tremor 3 for a 24” barrel 6.5prc shooting hot aft factory 147 grain match?

Do you have a muzzle velocity or any of the other data to punch into an app? There’s some real good free ones out there that you could give a try with (like Hornady). Horus Ballistics app even has a wind dot calculator built right into it I believe.

The wind dots don't represent any particular wind speed. The dots are time of bullet flight & you must calibrate your rifle to the system.
You start by selecting a full cross wind with bullet drift turned off. Once you've selected a full cross wind speed say 8 MPH, bring the results up as a table & scroll down to the 4 Milliradian line & look at the cross wind correction at 4 Mills. What you're looking for is to match a 0.95 mil correction at the 4 Mil elevation line. Keep inputting a different full value cross wind speed until you find 0.95 windage correction at 4 Mil elevation line or, as close as you can get. It can be 0.98 or 0.93. You can work with say 4.6 MPH if that is a 0.95 match but, they say a full wind value as close as you can get to 0.95 is plenty good enough. Once you have found a wind speed which closely matches the 0.95 at the 4 Mil elevation line, the wind speed you input now becomes the second wind dot from the centre stadia on the 4 mil line. The 1st wind dot will be half that wind speed value in MPH. So, lets say you've matched 5 MPH to 0.95 correction on the 4 Mil elevation line, every wind dot will be 2.5 MPH on the entire reticle, not just the 4 Mil line. Just like any other Ballistic correction, you have to match pressure, humidity & temp with may change your initial wind speed value which, you then halve for each dot.

Hours has a calculator on their website. Then for.each of that much wind you count over one dot on your elevation hold line.

Fairly certain it’s 4 mph per dot, so 16 at the larger dot. Bigger magnums are 5mph usually. For smaller calibers you can figure it out per instructions suggested on here.

Barelstroker basically laid it out the same way Horus does.

So Strelok doesn't support Horus reticles, pretty sure they're not the only one either. You'll want the Horus app too, at least it's free, easy to use and it looks like it works. It'll make doing all that shit easier. You'll definitely wanna watch those videos though, there are a few of them.

It's actually pretty simple once you know what you're doing.

Assuming you’re not a lost cause, like other tools, the more you use it, the better you’ll be at using it.
