    I received a call from Leupold Tactical with an invitation to Tour the Factory in Beaverton with a sit down with their engineers and like during the tour.

    Leupold Tactical is looking to embrace the market and step up to the plate for the tactical community so I will be venturing out that way to tour the place with them.

    I think this is awesome, and the fact they reached out speaks volumes, I feel like we are on the road to recovery.

    Looking forward to a report from this meeting!

    It sounds like Leupold is at least attempting to resolve some of the many issues that have plagued them and their Tactical/LE/Mil offerings. Progress is progress, no matter how small, and I genuinely hope this is the start of the recovery process for them.

    - Optical quality vs. Price

    I can say I probably would have a Mk4 ER/T by now if I was reasonable sure it wouldn't have a canted reticle and they would offer to fix it if it wasn't reasonably straight. That and better glass.

    Something just excrutiatingly painful about paying 60$ for a cut of meat I could have at home perfectly prepared for 14$.

    The funny thing about Portland is that you can get the same quality of steaks as most of the finer steak houses at a strip club just out of downtown for around 8$.

    Rightfully called "The Acropolis".


    It's truly a magical place. I'm pretty sure they have 100 or so beers on tap largely local to top that off.

    Portlanders are unbelievably picky about their strippers. Lot of strip clubs here though, so that's to be expected!

    Well, to be fair some of the strip clubs here are downright amazing when it comes to the talent on stage.

    The Acrop is definitely known for their food, and not as much the naked women though.

    Steaks, Strippers and Leupold Tactical.......There is a message in there somewhere, but it alludes me at the moment.

    In any event sounds like a great trip, and the fact that Rip Van Leupold has awoken from an apparent 20 year slumber is interesting and refreshing news.

    this is great if they would price a ffp 6.5x20x50 reasonable with illumination and tmr reticle m5 knobs i would buy a couple.

    The TMR reticle is honestly one of my favorite reticles i have seen. it is just right thickness, open center for precision, and just the right amount of hashmarks (i love basic .5mil and 1mil spacing).

    Only the finest in St. Helena. During a "visit" there, a young performer bragged that on a good weekend, she made $40-$50 bucks. During Carnival season, the pros from Dover on Rue Bourbon make $2-$3K in a weekend.

    A good quality spotting scope with a reticle like the one Carter and other came up with.

    A reticle like the H2CMR or USoptics Gap MIL or Premier's Gen2 Mil-Dot.

    Coatings that are on par with Hensoldt/S&B/Premier.

    Eye relief that doesn't go down when the magnification goes up.

    Turrets with more elevation per turn.

    Customer Service that don't say "I dunno, high I guess" when you ask them, "how high exactly are your High MK4 Steel 34mm rings?"

    I suppose if you go to the Acropolis with all the girls there you'll be having some surf with your turf...

    Good news that Leupold cares to take advice from real world users of their high end gear. I'd like to see less loss of eye relief at high magnifications, less canted reticles and less use of the phrase "within our specifications" when addressing problems. Price is also an issue with me. Nightforce NXS money is about my upper limit and the Leupolds have to be of equal quality before I go back. Have fun on your tour, and have fun at the factory tour as well...

    I would just say in regards to this their main competitor from a consumer perspective like mine is Vortex.

    I see the two companies in the same light qualitywise, only one is bringing me more features, better customer service, and all at a lower price.

    Vortex is releasing those hunting vipers for insanely less money, and really I can't imagine that's going to bode well for Leupold's target market.

    Considering that they are a local company for me I'd really love to be a patron. I actually have friends that work there. I just can't commit to their product at the price they run it at though it's just not adding up.

    This is from the economy scope purchasers perspective.

    Getting past L in price I'd be just saving the extra coin for a Nightforce.

    If you are going to the Leupold factory, you must be going to China. (according to some here and on other forumns)

    Apparently the chnage at the top is going to be very beneficial to us and to them.

    Like some others, I think it is too late also. These new scopes in the works may very well be much better than than the previous generation, but they are pricing them with and above the very best scopes on the market. Seriously, who the hell will spend 3500-4000 on a Leupold when you can get S&B, Hensoldt, etc for less?
