Hello guys..

I need some help to replace the factory trigger on my M700 Police (308Win / 26" barrel).

I'm going to use a Shilen trigger which came without safety mechanism and without bolt release mechanism.

The instructions sheet that came with Shilen trigger says I've to move all the parts from the factory trigger to the Shilen trigger (bolt release and safety).

But.... I'm facing the following problems:

1. On the right side of the trigger: there's a fixed pin on the Shilen trigger where it's supposed to be a removable pin to hold the safety mechanism (red arrows in the image shows the fixed pin on the Shilen and the removable pin on the Remington trigger).

2. On the left side: the Remington trigger has two pins to hold the bolt-release lever tight against the trigger housing. The lower pin on the Remmington trigger has a tiny notch or groove in which a small o-ring holds the bolt-release mechanism against the trigger body. But, the Shilen trigger has a straight pin with no groove in which to install the o-ring that prevents the bolt release mechanism from caming apart. The red arrow in the image shows the smal o-ring attched to the pin.

3. If I'm not wrong, I'm supposed to remove the trigger from the right side of the receiver. But the two pins that holds the trigger attached to the receiver has big heads on the right side. Is it ok if I remove the pins from the other side?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Re: shilen trigger installation how-to

That is an X-Mark trigger and is not meant to come apart. The Shilen trigger is referring to the "old style" trigger parts which are held together differently.

Even if you get that bolt release lever off that X-Mark trigger it won't work anyway. That part has a slightly different shape then the old style trigger part.

If you can’t find part from an original old style trigger you can order a safety kit from Rifle Basix. that would work for you.

Re: shilen trigger installation how-to

Send the trigger back and get a Jewell trigger. I have had about 2 dozen of them and they are great. Once you have had one you will never change....DAN

Thanks!! I really appreciate it... but I'm from Argentina. I will not be able to pay you for this. I will try to buy from Rifle Basix (credit card) or see if I can find a trigger on a local gunshop (I don't think it will be easy).

Thank you

I ordered the same Shilen trigger from Midway and have the same problem. I'll buy the parts from you if they're still available. PM Sent.
