Shipping meat.

Re: Shipping meat.

I know someone that had steak shipped to them using dry ice and styrofoam cooler. It was a few years ago not sure of the price it would depend on weight and what carrier you used.

Re: Shipping meat.

I had 13lbs of Halibut shipped from Seward Alaska to San Diego. For the flash freeze, shipping materials, vac seal, and prep it cost me about 80 bones. That also included either 48/24 hour shipping. With no Dry Ice it was still frozen with just a few soft/thaw spots. Had the wife throw the fish in the freezer and ate itlike 4 months later. Was still yummy.

Might be a little cheaper to do in the lower 48 though.

Re: Shipping meat.

I had 50 lbs of moose, caribou and halibut shipped from Alaska.

The first time It was put on dry ice and then put on the airlines.

The second batch Fed Ex delivered overnight.

Think my next batch will be some Alaska Bison from Delta Junction meats...

Re: Shipping meat.

I pay $115 for Fedex express shipping on 50 pound box. No dry ice, wrap frozen meat in bubble wrap and double garbage bags. Into the box it goes, never thawed by the time it gets to the midwest.
