Shooter App Question

So I was at a match yesterday and used the Shooter App the first time and also the first time I synced it to the Kestrel. I synced during zeroing the load at 200yds so the atmosphere was right. Then I synced it for the match about 30 mins later and it showed something goofy, I think. It shows it shooting 2.2" high at 200, it should be 0.0 at 200, right? I don't see why it would be. I hit a decent amount of targets and the ones I missed were all a little low. The load wasn't the most accurate and this match isn't very forgiving but overall I did better than I hoped. Here are the Shooter screen shots, maybe I missed something or maybe its off on this one? Usually Shooter is pretty close, it got me on at 1000yds with my 7mag in a couple shots. Its a 308 with 150g FMJBT's @2800 in a 20" 700 SPS.

Re: Shooter App Question

You zeroed at 200 yards.....then added a zero height of 2.125. So what this is telling shooter is that you are shooting 2.125" high at that 200 yard zero. All calcs from then on are based on that. If you hit middle of bull on your 200 yard zero there should be no zero height. All the calcs and info in the table even show this 2.125" difference, well rounded up anyway. With shooter i have found you need to read the manual a couple times to understand what each input is, because small changes make big changes. Hope this helps.

Re: Shooter App Question

GotCox-You're right, thanks, that's what it was. I thought that was for the scope hight but that is on the rifle screen. I guess being about 1 moa off on the math and hitting 25 out of 40 with ammo that was about 1 moa accurate on a 4x6" plate from 250 to 425 yards really isn't too bad.

Your welcome and yes it sounds like you did a very good job at the shoot!

Re: Shooter App Question

First time out with this rifle, first time in that match in 2 years, first time using Shooter and the Kestrel, first time shooting a 308, I was pretty happy. I was hoping to hit 20, got 25 I can't complain. I learned a lot and had fun. I tied for 10th out of 25 and all the guys that beat me had cool calibers like 260's and 6mm variants.

Your welcome. Hope it helps because shooter is one awesome app once you get it figured out. Sean has taken a lot of time to give lots of flexibility to the program.

Ya i would be very happy with that. Last comp i was in i came in dead last to a bunch of guys using full BR rests and $3000 guns. lol Very humbling.

Re: Shooter App Question

With what Sean's app does its too cheap, definitely a good deal. I like going to those matches where all the other guys have a ton of money in their rigs and i have $1500 in mine, win or lose i feel like i won.

Shooter seems less intuitive than the others.. Maybe its me..

I could agree with that. But once you know how to do something it's fairly simple.
