Re: ShooterReady Long Range shooting simulator.
I love this product! I try to hit it once every couple of days just to keep the ballistic circuits firing in my grape. I've tried contacting Karin Christensen a couple of times about this app because I am finishing up a software development book and am looking for my next project. I'm considering a rewrite that would be an HTML5 web-based application. So far she has not responded. If I don't hear from her before my book hits the printers then I may just do it on my own though that is not my preference. So much work has gone into her product and it has such a great reputation that I'd prefer to partner and build on her work.
I think that while this app is good it could be better. For instance:
- use your own load/rifle data
- use any current reticle on the market
- variable power scope
- more training information and/or integration with training videos
- saved stages for comparison/progress tracking
- the list goes on and on
This would be designed to work on the desktop/laptop (Mac or Win), the iPad (all versions), iPhone, and Android platforms. Does anyone think this would sell as an online subscription-based product? Not sure but ball parking $4.00 per month to be comparable with a $45-$50 she currently sells the software for. Probably not less since it would be a hell of a big project. No upgrades, just continuous improvements and starting with a product similar to the Flash based current version.
If this kicks off and there is anyone here interested in consulting, please PM me. Looking at getting started in 3-6 months, depending on other schedules and general interest in the product.
