Years, ok decades ago when i did competitive shooting we transported our "gear" scopes tools etc in wooden boxes either custom made or bought.Over the last 10 years or so when casually pistol shooting my wife and I used a bag to transport "stuff" of course it all got jumbled together. So, my question is what do you use and does anyone make metal or wooden boxes or do I make my own to keep things organized

There aren't many still making wooden bullseye boxes. There are several different free plans a google search away if you're handy with wood and so inclined.

As far as ready to purchase, although now discontinued, you can still find a few of the metal Hyskore box (link) available.

The boxes were always too big, awkward and heavy in my opinion. Most now prefer specialty backpacks or rolling luggage. There are a bunch of different brands and styles on Amazon for all price ranges.

Just be aware most are built for medium frame guns so you may need to get creative for longer guns and barrels depending on brand. Although expensive I highly recommend the stuff from Competition Edge Dynamics(CED/DAA). The G Outdoors(GPS) bags are nice as well. Heck, even the Midway range backpack on sale isn't too bad either, but at full price the 2 other brands I mentioned are leaps and bounds ahead in quality for not much more money.

Thanks for the replies. I have a metal pistol box but I’m looking for something to carry a rear bag, ammo, spotting scope, a bipod and some tools . I’ve made them before and probably will make another to fit the gear I take to he range

DeWalt Rolling Tool Center

This is what I use to carry exactly what you are describing. I shooting buddy/pistol smith had one and I tried to duplicate it cheaper, but finally gave in. It is one of the best pieces of kit I have purchased. Everything has a place when it’s time to go to the range.

The bottom box is perfect for a large front rest, a rear bag and targets. The middle drawer has nice separations for a spare bipod, spare mags, and tools. Top flip top houses the stapler, ear pro, spotting scope, and magnetospeed.

Good Luck
