Hi folks,

I am going to be in Calgary on a work trip next week and should have half a day to myself before we head back, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good store to visit while I am there?

We are staying somewhere in 'downtown' I believe, so if theres anywhere within a short taxi ride that would be great.

Do any stores in Calgary have ranges like they do in the USA? Would be great to perhaps fire a pistol while we are there too (not sure if they allow foreigners to do this?).

Regards

Phil

There is Bass Pro shop about 5 miles north of the city on the way to Edmonton. There is a Wholesale Sports store in the south part of the city. They are a knockoff of Cabelas. Neither one has a gun range but there are 3-4 commercial ranges in the city. Try googling them.

If your in the downtown area there is a MEC co-op store that sometimes has some deals on outdoors closeouts. It sort of a climbing-wilderness backpacking type of store. Across the street and in the immediate area are some other outdoors type store but they don't carry shooting related equipment.

Thanks guys!

I see on Google maps next to Wholesale Sports is "The Shooting Edge" which appears to be a store with a range! I think I'll drop them an email and see if we can't get down there for a few hours!
