Is there anything wrong with shooting tracer rounds through a suppressor?

I imagine it gets alot hotter alot faster. Also if the point of the suppressor is to conceal your whereabouts whilst firing, then it would be pretty stupid, but aside from that, is it bad for the suppressor to be putting tracer rounds through it?

Re: Shooting Tracers Suppressed?

I have only shot 30 and 50 cal tracers, but they seem to light after traveling down range at least 50 yards. This is true whether they are 1000 fps or over 2000 fps. I do not know if this is an optical illusion on my part.

If the tracer does not light inside of the barrel or silencer, then it should be be a problem.

Others may have seen them cause erosion on the blast baffle. I have not seen it. One phenomena that I see common to many tracers in all calibers is that they simply do not light, or at least a large percentage of them do not light when using a suppressor.
