Re: short action customs build

What kind of accuracy do you get with SAC builds? I have seen threads here on his work but have not come accross any at mine or other ranges. Very sweet looking rigs and I'm sure they shoot as good as they look.

Well I can tell you that a few weeks back I was up at Marks (SAC) hanging out and doing some shooting with him and he was doing some load dev for his personal tactical rifle. We had a target set up at 285 yards and he shot a 3 shot group that probably measured right around .65 of an inch so you do the math..

Im sure he could measure and post the target if you really wanted. Im sure he kept it.

Thanks guys for the posts.

Aaron, I actually accidentally destroyed that target with some other trash. I measured it from outside to outside and one group was 1.100" and the other was 1.010", that is with out subtracting the caliber.

Specs are Blueprinted 700
Similar treatment to bushing the bolt, but easier and cheaper
Krieger 1-12" 308 finished at 26"
APA recoil lug.
Manners MCS-T4 bedded
Badger M5
Badger 20 MOA
Leupold Mk4 rings and Mk 4 ERT 6.5x20x50
Tuned Rem 700 Trigger

Hogging out the old bedding. Doug did a really nice job with the bedding before this build, he used William Roscoe's method, and so did I.

RAH-TARDED good accuracy. I shot several .5" 5shot groups at 200yds with the M2008-6.5Creedmoor. Im sure the new surgeon will be just as accurate.

Tough to complain about groups like that..
(1.01-.308)/2.85 = .24 MOA at 285 yards.
(1.10-.308)/2.85 = .27 MOA at 285 yards.

Re: short action customs build

man i know....i need pictures. i am sorry. i have been spending more time shooting the shit outta this thing than taking pictures. i will tell you once i found my node load it has been printing in the .3's@100. i have been spending plent o' time at distance more than 100yd groups. i am very pleased with this rifle. it just keeps getting better the more i shoot it. anyhow, here is the only picture i have from my phone. 5rds@325yd-that is a one inch paster on the steel.
