short barrel on 8x57JS, how short is posible?

Im building a pursch riffel, the caliber is 8x57JS and to short the barrel.
How short can i get the barrel? Max shooting distance is gonna be 150meter

I tælles Whit a gunsmith he would not.go under 20" , what do you guys think?

I want it as short as possible.

Barrel length shorter than 20" will depend if you will be reloading your own ammunition. If you shoot factory hunting ammunition, there will be an enormous fireball every time you pull the trigger

If you decide to go shorter than 20" it will be best if you reload your own ammunition.

I would not go shorter than 18", that was the length of the Persian Mauser.

Are you shortening a military rifle, or Parker Hale?

it is this riffel that im going to shorten down and get a new stock on.
