I am wanting to shoot berger 95 or 105 VLD bullets in 243 win in a repeating action.
Long or short action? I will be chasing the threads.
Hinge floor plate or magazine feed?
What should I look for in stock options for either feed type?
This will be a walking/ambush coyote rifle.
I talked to both stiller and beget and neither had a definite answer.
Thank You in advance!

Re: short or long stiller action?

You talked to Jerry Stiller and be couldn't tell you if you needed to build a .243 on a short or a long action.........come on now grasshopper.

The stock options have nothing to do with whether you go BDL or DBM. Any stock can be inletted for either.....so pick any one of the 100's of options.

Re: short or long stiller action?

I dont personally own one but I researched it and spoke with Dave Kiff at PTG about it and the consensus was most run around .080-.095"freebore at a 1 degree 30 leed for mag fed rounds. The best thing would be to consult the gunsmith who will be building it and see what they reccomend.
