My daughter worked at Yellowstone for her first couple years of college at MSU Bozeman.
Stuff like this happens more often than reported.
Too many tourist believe that the park is a huge petting zoo and the East Asians are the worst of them.
My daughter wasn't law enforcement but after her early morning duties, she would drive all roads in Yellowstone reporting stupid people and where to find them.
There were very few days when she didn't need to report someone trying to die.
She was witness to two humans that "accidently" slipped and fell into the pools of almost boiling, caustic water. Neither person lived.
