Should I send it in or wait?

I have a Rem 700 VS in .308 that is unfired. I bought it new years ago and it has just been sitting in my safe ever since. I am starting to get the itch to actually do something with this rifle. I also have a matching Rem 700VS in .22-250 that needs a new barrel. I am planning on sending the .22-250 to GAP for a new barrel, trued action and a new Manners stock. Would it be a waste of money right now to send the .308 in as well to have the action trued and stock replaced or should I just get optics and shoot out the factory barrel before having the work done to it? Sorry if this is a stupid or dumb question. The closer my GAP .338LM gets to being built and shipped the more I want to do something with the .308.

Re: Should I send it in or wait?

I am torn right now as to what stock to get for the .22-250. I have a Manners T4-A on the .338LM being built but the more I see the T2-A the more I like it. I am going to have to wait till the .338LM comes in to make my decision. I know when the time comes I am wanting to have the Manners mini chassis in the new stock so that I can switch to a DBM.

Yep, if older I'd shoot it. If it's new, I might shoot it and see how it grouped, but if it wasn't good, I'd send it in too.
