Rifle Scopes Should Schmidt and Bender scopes come in a sealed box?

Does S&B seal the boxes their scopes come in? Trying to verify I got a brand new scope. Thanks!

The one I received from Optics Planet wasn't in a sealed box.. Looked new to me

Neither of the two I bought from Sport Optics were sealed.

I have 4. Three from Eurooptic and one from LaRue....all came in white unsealed boxes.

It does beg the question though, "Why not?" I have to admit, now that you mention it, I was a bit surprised when I bought my first one that it wasn't packaged anywhere near as carefully as my Mk 4 (not just the shrink wrap, but the inside foam, etc. as well). When I got the second one six months later, it was the same, but no surprise. I suppose it's adequate, as we never hear of people receiving damaged new scopes.

Maybe this is how S&B was able to cut their retail prices this year. They subcontracted their durability testing to the USPS. ;-)
