Bruce Shore, a 51 year-old unemployed Philadelphia man became unhinged when U.S. Senator Jim Bunning complained on the Senate floor that he'd missed a basketball game because of the debate regarding unemployment benefits.
Shore sent an email to Bunning wherein he wrote:
"Are you all insane? No checks equal no food for me. DO YOU GET IT??"
Shore's mistake was that he signed the message "Brad Shore from Louisville" believing that Bunning, a Kentucky Senator would disregard non-constituent messages.
Last month, a grand jury indicted Shore for "utiliz[ing] a telecommunications device, that is a computer, whether or not communication ensued, without disclosing his identity and with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, and harass any person who received the communication" contrary to 42 USC Section 223.
See the indictment here: http://big.assets.huffingtonpost.com/bruceindictment.pdf
If you were Shore's attorney, because the indictment contains no description of the crime, you would probably have questions regarding notice and sufficiency of the indictment. But, there you go. Trolls, watch out!
