Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

Here's mine. I've posted pics of it in another thread. It's not as nice as some, but I'm happy so far. LH 700, A4 stock, 27" Shilen barrel, Tubb recoil lug, Badger M5 bottom metal & R&D brake. 18lbs ready to shoot.

Exactly what mine will look like when done, but I will be running a AICS 2.0. Very nice. What Contour is that barrel?

It's what they call the tactical contour and tapers to .950 at the muzzle .

Best looking gun out there!

I am sending mine to Karl to have the sprial fluting on the barrel/bolt, lighten action/bolt handle.

Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

Here's my 300WM. Just got my 208 AMAX so no accuracy reports yet but being a GAP built rifle I am not worried. Specs:

Rem 700 LA trued by GAP
Manners T3
26" Bartlein 10 twist M24/M40 contour
Badger DBM and 20 MOA base
NF sold and will be wearing a S&B soon
SRT Shadow XL can with TAB SAS1
Harris BRM-S bipod and Pod Loc

And after paint job by Controlled Chaos Arms

Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

Hell yeah! That's a custom job that Micheal Ware did for me. Got an EG&A just behind the receiver too.

Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

R700LA / 24" Rock / A5 / SRT / GAP

Load - Win / Berger 210s / 72.00 RE 22 - shoots bug holes at 100.

7 rounds at a little over 1100, fussy light wind boiling up the draw and to my right.

Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

Here is what I have... I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes the 300 win mag...:) IT started off as a Savage 116 for an elk hunt and turned into this. Brux 1&10 twist 28" barrel, action trued and timed, competition trigger, Zeiss 6.5-20x 50mm. I'm having Tom Sarver and his group install a Harrell muzzle break on it next week as well. Hope you like, i sure do... Semper Fi

Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

Here she is, my 300 win mag. It's an older pic and I have put a 20 moa base and new rings on her as well as waiting for my new optics a Viper PST 6-24. I don't have any targets but she will shoot 1/2 moa @100m. I've had her out to about 700 and was just over 1 moa. The gun will shot, the shooter just sucks. HAHAHAHA.

Remington 700 XCR TLR
XLR industries stock with Enidine shotstock tube (like shooting an m1 carbine)
Cheapo Simmons scope soon to be replaced

single shot with holdover (lack of elevation adjustment in scope) @575 yrds off my backpack.
Followed by sacrilegious 3 group without holdover about 12in low.

I just got it last fall and haven't had a chance to shoot it much. I cant wait to get a decent scope on it (probably a viper PST) and then start working on handloads. First thing this spring will be to shoot 10 shot strings at 100, 200 and 575 and see what happens.

I know what I think .
Looks to me like he did not waist any Meat with that Head Shot .
That shot was pretty close and would have been a pretty good wound channel with the .300wm .
.

Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

Started with a Remington .300WM Sendero.
Added a Jewell trigger, recrowned and threaded the barrel, McRees stock. That is a Leupold LRT 3.5-10X40 which I plan on changing down the road.
The .300WM is the rifle on the top.
Ask Dust how it shoots with Berger 210 VLD's with RE22 at 73grns?

As yet, unassembled. Remmy action, NF rail, obermeyer m40 barrel, HS precision stock. I will probably convert this to AICS mags with one of hooper's new DBM.

Sorry for the crappy lighting, the light fixture has colored glass which really skews the color.

Re: Show off your 300 win mags.

My one is " ALMOST " done , action has been fitted with barrel and blued & cerocoated .

Just needs to be fitted into a AICS stock , and I can pick it up .

Badger action & brake & rings
Bartlein 1-10 5R barrel
Huber trigger
AICS stock

Original Savage 110 "Tactical" I purchased new for $225 in 1995, money well spent. Stock was made in my parents garage the same year.
750yd.jpg

Not my best group ever, but proud of it for the windy conditions, 7.5" at 750 yards.

How far can you shoot?

For most states the 300 makes more sense than the 338.
