Are any of these shuttered eye pieces really functional? I see several of them out there but never really see them discussed.

I'm currently using flip caps in the place of the eye cup so I can keep scope turned on but not light up myself.

Scope is question is a pulsar trail if it matters

I do like how flir made the switch on the top of the 536 so that I can just leave it in standby until I'm about to shoot, so that unit I just use the eye cup as intended.

Pulsar will light you up even in standby mode though because the little screen saver is bright as hell.

I got some Chinese and Aussie ones recently and testing them out. They were all under $10 each. They all seem to workish. The one on the Patrol seems to be the most solid in terms of holding on and I don't notice it in the field.

Well between all of them one of them probably will, but so far, I've been trying to get them to work on the PVS-14 backends of the trijicons. Don't the trails and helions already come with their own ??

I can try on my Apex, but it has a nice long one already on there it comes with.
